Alpha Delta Mu Sorority
The Alpha Delta Mu Sorority (Association of Dynamic Medics) of the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery has served as a fortress of medical excellence in the Philippines since it was founded in 1979. It is a sisterhood united in the spiritual, academic, socio-cultural development of its members and the promotion of the humanitarian spirit in the medical profession. Duly recognized by the university as a student organization, our sorority creates projects and events to enhance the service, excellence, and leadership of the Thomasian community. The Alpha Delta Mu cultivates the essence of responsibility and dynamism in the student body through the sorority’s various activities, which includes fellowship parties, environmental projects, blood drives, academic talks, and medical and surgical missions. The sorority aims to foster true friendship among its colleagues and fulfill her capacity to make a difference in the University of Santo Tomas and the world of Medicine.
Asian Medical Students’ Association – UST
The ASIAN MEDICAL STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION- University of Santo Tomas (AMSA-UST) is a local member organization of the AMSA-PHILIPPINES, which is a national member organization of the INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF MEDICAL STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATIONS (IFMSA) and AMSA-International. It serves to promote awareness and instill a sense of social responsibility on issues that affect medical practice and the health care system. AMSA-UST is dedicated to the production, advancement and transmission of knowledge for the formation of competent and compassionate physicians, committed to the service of the church, the nation and of the global community
Gamma Beta Epsilon Fraternity
We, the members of the Gamma Beta Epsilon Fraternity of the University of Santo Tomas are desirous of cultivating the ideals of the University in order to promote the spirit of Liberty, Equality and Brotherhood, to instill into ourselves the sense of Responsibility and Discipline for Productive Citizenship and Constructive Leadership, and to cooperate with the authorities in enhancing and promoting High Social, Moral and Scholastic Standards; and in concert with the principles and virtues of the fraternity that we as Noble Gamman Lords have upheld through the years of our establishment, we will search for whatever is Good, Beautiful and Ethereal.
Kappa Chi Omega Sorority
Realizing the need for a sisterhood that would prioritize medical education and service and one that would represent unwavering Filipino competence, commitment, and compassion in the four corners of the globe, 41 medical students of the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery assembled on March 29, 2012 with the intent of establishing a sisterhood unlike any other – an independent sorority that would promote academic excellence, encourage social awareness, protect the underprivileged, inspire oneness, and provide the highest standard of healthcare under all circumstances. These 41 women realized the need for a sorority that would change the common view on sororities in general, especially the notion that physical and mental harm must be inflicted in order to create loyal members. Built upon the core values of Knowledge, Compassion, and Oneness, the sorority was named the KAPPA CHI OMEGA SORORITY – a sisterhood of women who incorporate the principles of service, humility, poise, grace, strength, perseverance, loyalty, honor, and excellence in their everyday lives.
Medical Missions Incorporated
The Medical Missions, Inc. is a charitable organization that renders free social, medical and surgical services to the indigent Filipinos in the urban and most especially in the rural areas of the country. It was established in 1961 by Anthony Galleta when he first visited Kiangan, Ifugao. One year later, the MMI was established as an independent organization and was incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission. From then, MMI gained national attention and would receive urgent requests for medical and surgical missions in remote and impoverished areas in the Philippines devoid of medical care and attention. Today, it is composed of doctors, nurses, sisters and priests and other paramedical personnel that continue to extend help to anyone needing health care services. The organization has been working through donations from private individuals, free services from specialists and doctors from various fields, volunteer nurses, as well as nursing and medical students.
The course involves all four (4) medical undergraduate years. Students will have formal classroom discussion and general lectures on research methodology, medical informatics, and critical appraisal of medical literature and evidence-based medicine in the first two school years of Medical school. Periodic evaluation of knowledge acquisition and progress is done and a required terminal output of a valid research protocol or proposal for Research Methodology and, properly appraised medical literatures in the four primary medical studies (diagnosis, therapy, harm and prognosis) for Critical Appraisal and Evidence- based Medicine. Separate consultation/ research laboratory hours will be allotted during the four medical school years to be used for: in the 1st year development, presentation, improvement and evaluation of research proposals; 2nd year & 3rd year research data gathering, encoding and analysis; 4th year research paper writing and presentation.
Medicine Glee Club
Since its establishment in 1958, the UST Medicine Glee Club has been the official performing chorale group of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, representing the university in various competitions and conferences. Inspired by the ideals of St. Cecilia and St. Romanos, the organization seeks to provide a venue for medical students to express themselves through song. UST MGC also prides itself in producing doctors who are equipped not only with the skills and knowledge of the medical practice, but also with the ability to convey the healing power of music.
Mu Sigma Epsilon Sorority
Embodying genuine sisterhood and passionate service, the Mu Sigma Epsilon sorority, which also stands for Medics for Service and Excellence, continues to live by its ideals and guiding principles since its foundation in August of 1995: fostering in its members the development of the mind, the will, the heart and the soul; uniting students, the faculty members and alumni in friendship and mutual understanding; upholding academic excellence and loyalty; developing in its members the spirit of voluntary service with utmost humility.
The sisterhood and its members, thrusted in unity amidst adversity, is likened to a butterfly, a symbol of the soul and of rebirth. Each has its own unique color and intricacy- when united become even more beautiful.
Pax Romana
As the premier religious student arm, it pioneers in organizing various activities and events for the total formation of Catholic Christian individuals. The organization if composed of students united by Catholic faith, and the passion for serving God and His people. Pax Romana didn’t just offered activities that cater to a student’s prayer life. It goes beyond by offering relevant and Christ-centered community service programs that are rooted in our Catholic faith and values.
UST Pax Romana has five fields of actions: Catechetical, Christian Renewal, Community Service/ Development, Cultural, and Social Action. The catechetical work of the organization ensures the unselfish dedication and commitment of the members to the apostolic endeavors of catechizing inside and outside the university campus. Christian renewal promotes the religious and spirituall well-being of its members through active participation in the Liturgy, Bible Study, recollections and retreats, and pilgrimages. The members are also encouraged to actively participate in the community service projects aligned with the community development program of the university. Through the Social Action Program, the members are engaged in advocating peace and social justice, the protection of life and liberty, and care for the environment. The organization also promotes the Catholic Filipino cultural ideals.
Phi Sigma Gamma Fraternity
The Phi Sigma Gamma Fraternity, a premier Thomasian medical fraternity recognized by the medical community for its social relevance & responsibility. People focused, Service oriented, God inspired. The Phi Sigma Gamma Fraternity is a duly recognized organization of medical students and doctors who have graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines. Founded in 1968, its main goal shall be the creation of a well-rounded Thomasian physician in terms of moral, intellectual, social, physical and cultural capabilities, thus through its People, Service, God ideals.
Scintilla Juris Fraternity
The UST-SCINTILLA JVRIS Fraternity is a multi-chaptered fraternity that originated from UP-Diliman. Chapters can be found from Baguio to as far as the Visayas and Mindanao regions. The UST-FMS chapter caters to young men who represent the core values of a SCINTILLAN. Each SCINTILLAN is developed to one who values Intellectual Integrity, Academic Excellence and the Propagation of the Medical Profession.
Sigma Beta Tau Phi
Sigma Beta Tau Phi (SBTF), otherwise known as the TITANS, is a medical fraternity whose members are students and graduates of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. It was established on October 1, 1967. The Titans was envisioned as the prime fraternity, a fraternity that strives and imbibes academic excellence through brotherhood. A brotherhood founded on its core values of Knowledge, Compassion, and Service and instils into its members its virtues of Tolerance, Intelligence, Tenacity, Assertiveness, Nobility with Humility, and Sacrifice.

The official dance troupe of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Santo Tomas, that is committed to promote cultural growth and awareness through the expression of the art of dance; inspire artists, dancers and non-dancers alike; and develop the values of camaraderie, cooperation, unity, charity and responsibility among its members.
Theta Lambda Phi Sorority
The Theta Lambda Phi Sorority is guided by the ideals of Truth, Loyalty & Pursuit of Knowledge. Our Phi Sigma Gamma (PSG) Brothers and 41 Pillars established it on August 30, 1980. They have in mind female medical students who are leaders, doers, performers and movers who will uphold and pass on the virtues of a competent, compassionate and committed Thomasian Lady Physician.

UST Medicine Student Council
Pathology is a basic discipline of Medicine which studies human diseases. It pertains to the study of the nature, course, cause, and mechanism of diseases with their structural and functional derangements.
General Pathology is a yearly subject with a total of 238 hours. The course basically includes Basic and Systemic Pathology, Postmortem examinations, Surgical Pathology (Histopathology), Cytology, Clinico-Pathologic Correlation and Basic Research. Methodology: Teaching strategies include general and special lectures, lecture-demonstration, laboratory sessions, small group discussion and clinico-pathologic conference.
The Department of Pathology is one of the most modern and most complete departments in its category in the country. The materials and equipment include autopsy materials, biopsy and cytology specimens, pathology library, slide set and microscope for each student, computerized audio-visual equipment and fully air-conditioned laboratory and lecture rooms.
Zeta Beta Mu Fraternity
Through the efforts of its 19 founders, the Zeta Beta Mu Fraternity was established in 1971. Also known as the Zeal for Brotherhood among Medics, the fraternity is the embodiment of its 5 pillars of Scholarship, Service, Sacrifice, Sociability, and Idealism. It has perpetually molded its members not only as outstanding physicians but also as first-rate leaders who exhibit excellence in both medical and non- medical fields worldwide. With its unending resilient bond with its alumni, the Fraternity’s great traditions live on throughout the years.
