With great sadness, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the UST Faculty of Medicine & Surgery marks the passing of a dear friend, mentor, educator and Thomasian physician. A member of UST Medicine Class 1961, Dr. Lim joined the Faculty of Medicine & Surgery in 1962 ex-officio as a Resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. She rose from the ranks and held in her long and illustrious career various academic and professional leadership positions within and outside of the University. These include being Department Chair in OB-GYN at the UST FMS, President of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (Foundation), Inc. (POGS), President of the Philippine Society of Reproductive Medicine (PSRM), Chair of the Philippine Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (PBOG) and Chair of the Council for Residency Education Enhancement and Development (CREED) in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Lim retired from the Faculty in 2003. She will be remembered well by generations of undergraduate and postgraduate student by her strict but passionate demeanor which no doubt demonstrated her underlying profound love of teaching, whether in the classroom, hospital ward or operating theatre.
