A 150 day countdown with a series of events mark the 150 year founding anniversary of the oldest medical school in the country. To celebrate the birth of an institution known for excellence and providing premium medical education for more than a century, the UST-FMS prepared a year-long activities and festivities carried out in a mix media platform in this time of pandemic.
The celebration kicked off last Dec 29, 2020 with an event aptly entitled “Global Virtual Launch Sesquicentennial Countdown-150 to 150”. Throughout the year, there will be events which aims to forge stronger connection among the FMS alumni all over the world and look back in the rich history of the institution which molded us to be competent, compassionate and committed Thomasian Physicians.
- May 28, 2021 – Sesquicentennial Mass and Opening ceremonies; Presentation of Sesquicentennial Marker; “Vision 2021 and Beyond”
- May 29, 2021 – Unveiling of the Sesquicentennial marker at the Plaza Sto Tomas, Intramuros; Period Four-“Footsteps of the UST-faculty of Medicine and Surgery” (Reception at the Fort Santiago)
- May 30, 2021 – Sesquicentennial Grand Tele-Medical Mission (UST Simbahayan; USTMAA Chapters and MMS)\
- August 9, 2021- Senate and Congress Resolution-Commendation of UST-Faculty of Medicine and Surgery’s Significant Contribution to Philippine Medicine
- September 24, 2021 – Blessing of the Landmark Project 1-St martin de Porres Building; Presentation of the Sesquicentennial Commemorative stamp; Launch of the Sesquicentennial Commemorative Book- spans 150 years and beyond
- December 16/18, 2021 – University Paskuhan Lighting; Sesquicentennial Song writing Hymn Finals
- January 27-28, 2022 – Summit of Thomasian Global Health Leaders
- January 29, 2022 – “Toast to 150”; Sesquicentennial gala and Awards Night featuring “The Wall of History”
