UST MED GALA 2020

The UST Med Gala 2020 is one of the social events leading to the Sesqui Gala Dinner in May 2021. It will serve as a glimpse on how to prepare for the “main event” as well as entice our alumni to look forward and participate in the Sesqui Celebration.

The UST Med Gala is a red carpet dinner dance ball which is patterned after the MET Gala in New York.

The objectives of the event is to raise funds for the Sesqui Celebration in May 2021. It will also serve as a “dry run” in preparation for the Main Gala Dinner on May 28, 2021.

The event, a “teaser,” will encourage our alumni to actively participate in the Sesqui Celebration.

The Med Gala will be held at the Shangri-La BGC Ballroom on Jan. 11, 2020. The event will kick off with a red carpet walk photographed by the “paparazzi” and with interviews conducted by “lifestyle” hosts at 3:00 PM.
The guests will then proceed to the foyer where cocktails will be served and at the same time allow the guests to view the 150 items which will be sold in a silent auction that will end at 6:00 PM.

By 6:00 PM, the guests will enter the ballroom and view the videos taken during the red carpet walk. Sit down dinner will be served by 6:30 PM and a brief program will start at 7:30 PM introducing Anargyroi and outlining the structure for the Sesquicentennial Celebration. Awards will be given to the best dressed, the oldest, farthest guests, biggest family, and the best dance pair.

It is expected to raise funds from the table sales, silent auction, and corporate sponsorships. The campaign will use the movie “My Fair Lady” as a template and playlist to hype the event.

There will be a No Hat, No Entry, No Party policy. A band which plays the 60s to the 80s hits will be hired and a DJ to alternate while the band is on break.

FMS through Anargyroi Foundation will benefit from it as all funds will be directed to Anargyroi who will in turn provide financial support for the Sesquicentennial Celebration.

It will provide the Sesquicentennial Committee a chance to prepare for the main gala dinner.
